“Laborium wasn’t something I planned. It wasn’t a business idea, a strategy, or a brand concept carefully mapped out. It was a moment. A feeling, an instinct. Something that took hold of me.”
What started as a casual embroidery class in Mexico City in January 2023 sparked a journey back to Tunis, with the birth of Laborium three months later.
First Laborium piece: The Bee Boxer
Laborium is not just about fashion; it’s a creative lab—a space to explore, have fun, create, and connect with like-minded individuals. The brand is dedicated to reviving traditional Tunisian crafts and showcasing the incredible skills of local artisans.

The inspiration behind Laborium traces back to Mexico City, an unplanned trip that led the way to Zine’s first embroidery class at The Museo de Arte Popular in Mexico City, Mexico, a museum that promotes and preserves part of the Mexican handcrafts and folk art.
The energy of the city, the richness of its culture, the raw creativity—it sparked something in me. I found myself drawn to embroidery, fascinated by patience, and precision – it’s a kind of meditation.
And then as I was back in Tunis, I started to explore flea markets. I came across this fabric: blue bed sheets with bees – clear vision: That fabric became the first piece: a Boxer. I took a few men’s shirts and started to embroider them. I always love to wear menswear, It gives an effortlessly cool style.
I had never had anything produced for me as clothing yet, so the search for a good tailor started. I found one that took the bet with me, and together, we started crafting. One piece became a few, and before I knew it, there was a whole collection. There was no big plan, no clear direction—just passion, instinct, and the need to create. So, I stopped and thought, why not ? Why not take this all the way ? And that’s when Laborium was truly born.
The first two years have been a whirlwind—learning, pushing boundaries, figuring things out along the way, going from producing in a small tailor to producing in a factory with a proper development team. But through it all, the essence has stayed the same. Laborium is about creating pieces that are easy to wear, chic and effortlessly cool. It’s about a journey that keeps unfolding.
2025 : a new milestone, 2 years of Laborium and the time to grow the team. And who better than family to complete it ?
